Adelaide

I'm here in Adelaide, South Australia.  It is a very nice, warm place to be in December.  Not just the temperature, but also the people are warm -- actually a nice combination of laid-back and professional.

Paul Wood and I had a great time running a PtL event here.   Always great to work with enthusiastic, dedicated, competent engineers.  No worries!

We helped the Operator review a large part of a very large, mature onshore gas field.  Together with the excellent staff of 25 experienced and junior engineers from all disciplines, including Operations, in two weeks we reviewed 115 wells and the entire surface facilities system.  The team generated an outstanding number of optimization ideas, almost 200, in one 15 minute brainstorming session! We then went on to find opportunities worth a solid 15% increase in production rate, with a possible upside as high as 40% (mostly acceleration).  The team felt that the process allowed them to quickly recognize and work-up opportunities that their normal (very good) processes did not capture.  PtL's mix of cross-discipline challenge and support was the key. Senior management showed up in force to show their support and was very pleased with our ability to optimize the field and so we hope to be back next year!
