Tunisia

OK, enough summer. Now back to work as global oil and gas consultant.  This time I am in Tunisia, which is a wonderful country.

I led a Produce-the-Limit type production system optimization review lasting two weeks with about 25 staff.

It took a day each way to get to the field close to the Libyan border in South Tunisia, which is in a barren, rocky, sandy desert.  Luckily it was hot, but not horribly hot.

The people I worked with were very nice, worked hard and are very interested in additional production. Tunis is a beautiful town, or at least there are a great many beautiful views to be found.

Together we found some additional oil production through the expanded use of gas lift and the addition of ESPs.  We also were able to quantify the uncertainty of their production rates and created a forecast and manpower requirements for additional wells they will drill.  The team was very pleased with a detailed plan to increase production in the short term by 20%-30% and in the next few years by perhaps 100 or 200%.

As I am packing to leave, I am hoping to come to Tunisia again someday.
